UEL MA Fine Art End Of Year Show

2018 UEL MA Fine Art End of year show, London

This was my end of year show for the MA Fine Art Course at the University Of East London. I display my Virtual Job Simulator Vol.1 for the first time in the container space. I wanted to use this space as I wanted to have total control of the user experience. I wanted to have people feel the enclosed feeling that would add to the artwork’s theme of being stuck. I also liked how the container looked like something out of a movie where you find one person in an espionage film secretly hacking databases from a secure location like a shipyard or a warehouse.

MA Fine Art Exhibition

2017 MA Fine Art Exhibition UeL, AVA Gallery, London

I showed my A Letter To The Mute Artwork here. This was the last time I showed photographic work . I was trying to figure where I wanted to go next with my art.

Zines of the world

2017 Zines of the world, Truman Brewery, London
w/ FUBAR Collective

2016 Zines of the world, TIFF Festival, Poland w/ FUBAR Collective

2015 Zines of the world, Doomed Gallery, London
w/ FUBAR Collective

ZINES OF THE WORLD was an open submission project from Doomed Gallery and The Photocopy Club that applied to as part of FUBAR Collective.

We created it over a day using assimilated imagery. This Zine was the precursor to the FUBAR Collective show and many of the themes in the Zine were carried over to form the curatorial direction for the show.

PhotoMasters

2016 PhotoMasters, Truman Brewery, London

I was part of Photomasters 2016 having applied to it as a student of University Of East London before starting the September term. I displayed my A Letter To the Mute artworks. People were confused as they didnt think it was photography. However, the work was cliche verre process painting onto glass and then using the glass as a photogram. I was quite happy as one of the people who came to the exhibition said he liked the artwork and begun translating the artwork to me. Which was nice.

The Other Art Fair

2015 The Other Art Fair, Victoria House, London

Me and the other FUBAR Collective members wanted to apply to Other Art Fair so we did so together. It was great as people gave varied reviews of my work. I think my first thought about participatory art started here. I also got to meet Gavin Turk. Which was nice.

Cultivate Gallery Show curated by ‘Julia Maddison’

2014 Used Boots And Panties, curated by ‘Julia Maddison’, Cultivate Evolved, London

I got asked by Another artist to come back to show again at the Cultivate Evolved gallery at Vyner
Street. It was nice to be asked by someone to be part of their show. It validated me as an artist as at the time I was still struggling with life out of art school. It was the boost I needed to keep continuing my art. I’m not sure how my art contributed to the show’s theme but I was happy none the less.

Guest Space at Cultivate Evolved

2014 Guest Space, Cultivate Evolved, London

I applied to be part of Cultivate Evolved show in Vyner Street. This was first show in Vyner street. I had previously applied and just so happened to fit the theme of the current show. I was asked how I like the work to be shown and decided to give curatorial control to the gallery. This may of been more to my anxiety at the time however I think I made the right call.

On The Wall

2012 On The Wall, The Redchurch Gallery, London

My end of year art show for my BA (Hons) degree. The staff had chosen my artwork to be in the window of the exhibition which I thought was a great honour. I also showed artwork on the inside too. I can remember feeling really happy I had a really great year artistically and I was finally showing the artwork to everyone.

London Photomonth Photofair

2010 London Photomonth Photofair, Spitalfields Market, London.

This was my first ever exhibition and it was my first ever time displaying art. It came about when someone else who had the spot at Photomonth Photofair couldn’t have the space for some reason and sold it onto us. It was all very new and last minute. I remember there was loads of food stuff nearby, being Spitalfields Market, which was very good. I got good feedback for my Polaroids especially.
